PPPA MEMBER, LYNN DI VITO, ON JEOPARDY!
Earlier this year, PPPA member and retired museum educator, Lynn Di Vito, was selected to be a contestant on America's favorite quiz show, Jeopardy! Unfortunately, we didn't learn of the air date for her appearance (May 23) in time to mention it in last Sunday's BLAST!
According to the quiz show's official website, https://www.jeopardy.com/ the selection process is quite strenuous:
"First, you must take and pass the Jeopardy! Test. If you pass the test and meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you will be placed into a random selection process for an invitation to an audition. Assuming you perform well at the audition, you will be placed into the contestant pool and could be invited to compete up to 18 months from your audition date. Making it to an audition is not a guarantee of being invited to compete on the show.

SUMMER LEAGUES AT SPRINGS PICKLEBALL
A Partner League is a way to test your doubles skills over 6 weeks with the same partner. Each week your team will play 2 other teams up to 3 times each (or best 2 out of 3). You will play each game to 11 points win by 2. The scores for each game are recorded and the win-loss standings for each team are updated after every week. Winners will be determined by total number of wins and ties will be determined head to head.

2023 COLORADO OPEN - PIKES PEAK OR BUST TOURNAMENT - AUGUST 11 - 13, 2023
Registration is now open for the 2023 Colorado Open - Pikes Peak or Bust Tournament.
This is the "only" tournament that dedicates all proceeds to the City of Colorado Springs and to El Paso County to assist in funding new courts. Current new court development projects are:
- Bear Creek Park - 6 additional pickleball courts and two tennis courts dual striped for pickleball
- Venezia Park - 4 additional pickleball courts which are Pending Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation approval
- Coleman Park - 18 - 20 pickleball courts that are included in the final design for the park
Please register as soon as possible and be ready to enjoy some competitive play and a fun tournament experience!

BATTLE OF THE PADDLES PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT PUEBLO 2023
The Pueblo County Pickleball Association is hosting their first ever tournament at the new Mineral Palace Park courts on August 18-20, 2023. The Battle of the Paddles Pueblo 2023 is the weekend after PPPA’s CO Open - Pike Peak or Bust.
